Chips and Dip

Fresh tomato salsa is a healthy, low-fat snack that's full of antioxidants. Many people visit the store to purchase prepackaged salsas when it can be just as easy to create something at home.

Pair the salsa with fresh-made tortilla chips and you'll have a quick and easy snack.

Tomato Salsa

10 servings

6 fresh tomatoes, chopped

1/2 sweet onion, chopped

1/2 green bell pepper, chopped

1 small jalapeno pepper chopped, to taste

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 teaspoons vinegar

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Pinch of salt

Juice of 1/2 a lime

Whisk together liquid ingredients and salt. Toss together with the tomatoes, cilantro, peppers and onions to coat well. Refrigerate at least 1 hour to marinate flavors.

Cut corn or flour tortillas into triangles and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes until crispy. Use chips to enjoy the dip.
