More information is expected to be released today regarding a man who was found dead at Norwalk’s Veterans Memorial Lake Park on Saturday.

Police Sergeant James Montana tells the Norwalk Reflector that they know the identity of the man in question; but they do not have a lot of information and that the death is under investigation.

 

The State Highway Patrol’s Sandusky Post is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that involved a pedestrian on Sunday night.

They say 59-year-old Dennis Mahutga of California was attempting to cross Route 250 from Kalahari to the Hy-Miler gas station; when he was struck by an SUV driven by 39-year-old Amanda Horvath of Milan.

The northbound lanes of Route 250 were closed for approximately 2 hours while the scene was investigated.

                                        

In Lorain County, a Henrietta Township man is due in court Thursday…accused of using a hidden camera in his bathroom and taking pictures of unsuspecting teenagers.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office says, they found those pictures on                    30 year old Paul Churchill’s mobile device, and learned that the hidden camera had been moved to a friend’s house in Erie County.

Charges there are pending…

 

A Sandusky man faces multiple felony charges involving an alleged stolen handgun early Saturday morning. 

According to the Sandusky Register, 25-year-old Trevonte Adcock reportedly attempted to hide a gun in some bushes near Harrison Street after allegedly running out of a vehicle before it was stopped by police.

Police say that Adcock was first seen near a store on Camp Street where he allegedly was carrying a gun, which he then reportedly tucked into his waistband and got into a vehicle.

 

Flu season is in full swing here in Ohio.

In their latest survey, the Ohio Department of Health reports more than

800 new hospitalizations…the highest weekly mark this season.

 

The Sandusky Police Department says they’re looking for more great men and women to serve their community.

According to police, there is a strong potential for 4 to 5 job openings with their department.

This comes after Sandusky police were recruiting last week in the Toledo area.

 

The Chapel’s Norwalk campus is hosting a Valentine’s Day event for those who have lost their spouses.

A free Valentine’s Day Lunch for Widows will be held this Friday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

 

Tonight, Black History Month will be celebrated in Elyria with a program on the Underground Railroad.

This evening’s program will be presented at the Elyria Arts Council on Broad Street…sponsored by the Arts Council and Eden Valley Enterprises.

 

The 2020 season of the Sandusky Farmers Market is just around the corner…and they’re looking for vendors.

Officials say they’re looking for handmade, homemade and homegrown artisans and vendors; along with live musicians.
