Huron County Safe Communities Coalition has released their latest fatal crash numbers…

They say, from April to June, Huron County experienced three fatal crashes resulting in three deaths.

So far this year, there have been a total of six fatal crashes and seven crash-related deaths in the county; two more crash-related deaths than last year at this time.


The name of the person who died yesterday when their car was hit by a construction apparatus on the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County…has been released by the State Highway Patrol. 

Kim Huntington of Brighton, Michigan was 65.

Authorities say he was driving behind a commercial truck that was illegally too-tall; which knocked a piece of equipment off of a bridge that was under construction.

Huntington died en route to the hospital.


A 33-year-old Indiana man is in trouble after allegedly throwing lit-fireworks out of a moving vehicle near Milan. 

Law enforcement said Eric Mason admitted to them that he was shooting the fireworks out of a truck window while driving down the road in the area of the Ohio Turnpike on U.S. 250…the admission coming after a partially-spent Roman Candle was spotted under the truck’s driver’s seat, according to an Erie County Sheriff’s Office report.

Mason was charged with fireworks possession and ignition.


Apparently there was more to All-Star Week in Cleveland than we knew. 

Authorities conducted two undercover stings…‘Operation Triple Play’ and ‘Operation Home Run’.

They arrested nearly 50 men; including three from Lorain County and three from Medina County…accused of sexually-explicit online conversations with supposed minors.

It led to meetings at a vacant house in Cleveland.


A man from Clyde faces charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer on Wednesday.

The Fremont News-Messenger reports that 25-year-old Alex Goble was first pulled over by Clyde Police for a warrant near County Road 260 in Green Creek Township

When an officer attempted to detain him, Goble reportedly flailed his arms and allegedly hit the officer in the mouth with one of his swings.


Elyria Muny Court Judge Robert White has announced, he has received state approval to initiate a drug recovery court…the first of its kind in Lorain County at the municipal level.

Lorain County operates a drug recovery court at the county level for felony cases.


A roadwork reminder to Norwalk residents…

Beginning Monday, crews will begin the 2019 Street Resurfacing Project.

Roads to be worked on include…Tucker Street from Parsons to the end, Taylor Street from Parsons to Mack Street and North Garden from Harkness to East Main.

Barrels and no parking signs will be posted the night before construction.


A different option for a late lunch or perhaps dinner…will be in Norwalk tonight. 

A food truck from Chick-Fil-A will be set up in the parking lot of the Pat Catan’s store from 3:00 to 7:30 pm.

-Huron River Fest runs tonight, tomorrow and Sunday at the Huron Boat Basin; with fireworks tonight and a parade on Saturday at 11:00 am; and ‘Pets on the Pier’ Sunday morning at Lake Front Park.

-The ‘Cedar Point Nights’ summer nighttime beach festival begins tonight.

-Norwalk’s ‘Relay for Life’ cancer fundraiser happens Saturday from 4:00 to 11:00 pm at Whitney Field.

-The Middle Bass Island Music Festival takes place Saturday afternoon and evening.
