Huron-Erie-Sandusky County/Bellevue shooting

An apparent shooting in Bellevue has left a man dead.

44-year-old Curtis Gibbs was found deceased in the hallway of a home on Thomas Drive Sunday night…according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that multiple shots were fired from two different handguns, one belonging to the victim.

Erie County/Sandusky man sentenced in alleged gun/car incidents

A Sandusky man is going to prison for seven years in connection with two separate alleged incidents involving a gun and a car.

23-year-old Randy Kimble has pled guilty to felonious assault and discharging a firearm near prohibited premises.

In September of 2017, Kimble allegedly fired a gun and hit a pedestrian with his vehicle.

Last March, he alleged fired multiple rounds into an unoccupied car, with no one being struck.


Huron County/Norwalk PD’s Fulton promoted

Norwalk PD Captain Jim Fulton has been named executive secretary officer of the police department.

Fulton, who has worked for the Norwalk PD since 1988, just received a promotion to captain a few weeks back…following the naming of Mike Conney as Police Chief.

Fulton, in essence, is the second-in-command to Conney.


Lorain County/VA Clinic

This evening, Lorain City Council will consider re-zoning land on the city’s northwest side in hopes of luring a Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic to the area.

A developer who is spearheading the effort says, he needs the land rezoned, in order to submit a proposal to the feds.

The current, temporary Outpatient Clinic is located in Sheffield Village, and Mayor John Hunter wants it to stay there.


Huron & Erie County/EHOVE administrator recognized by the state

A state honor for an EHOVE Career Center administrator…

Assistant Director Matt Ehrhardt has been named “Innovator of the Year” by the Ohio STEM Learning Network.

STEM standing for science, technology, engineering and math.

Ehrhardt helped start up a program to assist educators on how to use STEM applications in the classroom  as well as create the first state high school drone racing league.


Huron County/Norwalk garage sale

The City of Norwalk has announced that they will be hosting a city-wide garage sale over Labor Day weekend.

No garage sale permits will be required, but residents are encouraged to register their sale at Norwalk City Hall before August 27th.

A complete list of participants will be available for pickup on August 28th as well as being posted on the city’s website and Facebook page.


Erie County/U.S. 6 roadwork

Starting today, road construction involving a culvert replacement will close down U.S. 6 where it overlaps Ohio 269 in Erie County.

It’s expected to be back open by Friday.

Detour signs will be posted.
