Milan-Norwalk/Former church worker facing sex charges

A Norwalk man has been indicted on three counts of gross sexual imposition, involving young girls at a Milan church.

The alleged incidents involving former Milan Friends church children’s director, 56-year-old Kenneth Rose, took place in February and March, involving at least two victims.

Police say there could be as many as five victims, as their investigation continues.

 

Western Reserve schools/Norwalk man arrested for alleged threat

A Norwalk man has been charged with inducing panic.

22-year-old Marshall Martin was arrested Thursday for making alleged threats of violence against Western Reserve High School on Wednesday.

There was an increased police presence at the school on Thursday.

 

Perkins Township/Stabbing reported

Possible stabbing in Perkins Township Wednesday night…

Police say the alleged incident happened in a home in the 2700 block of Campbell Street, where a man was treated for chest injuries.

Two likely suspects fled the scene.

 

Norwalk/Bus driver cited for hitting shelter

A woman driving a bus for CLI Inc. has been charged with failure to control after an accident earlier this month at Norwalk’s Veterans Memorial Lake Park.

Police say 60-year-old Lynn Kuhn told them she was trying to park in front of a shelter when she had trouble getting the gear shift into park, and then lost control of the bus and hit the structure.

 

Vermilion/Tick carrying Lyme Disease found in park

The kind of blacklegged tick that carries Lyme Disease has been spotted in the Cassell Reservation of the Lorain County Metro Parks.

The tick was found on the clothing of someone in the park, according to a wildlife official and Vermilion Mayor Jim Forthofer.

Officials say to take precautions.

 

Danbury/Man accused of removing GPS monitor turns himself in

A Danbury Township man accused of recently removing his GPS ankle monitor has turned himself in to authorities.

27-year-old Corey Gough originally had pled guilty to burglary and attempted violation of a protection order in connection with an incident in January at an unoccupied hotel.

 

Huron County/Roadwork on Ohio 99

In Huron County, Ohio 99 will be closed starting Monday for bridge and culvert replacements in two locations.

…Between Hanville Corners Road and Bauman Road…and between Pontiac Section Line Road and Sandy Hill Road.

Detours will be posted.

The roadways are expected to reopen by mid-July.

 

Sandusky/City clean-up planned for Saturday

Sandusky’s first of many neighborhood clean-up events takes place Saturday.

Residents are invited to join city commissioners and staff members as they look to beautify the Cove District neighborhood.

Cleanup supplies will be provided.

 

Sandusky/Cedar Point’s Steel Vengeance to run with just one train

Cedar Point’s new coaster, Steel Vengeance, will start running with just one train this weekend while the manufacturer makes adjustments to the ride.

This comes after a minor accident during the park’s opening day, last Saturday, when two of the trains collided.

The park may implement special rules to handle anticipated long lines for the ride, which they say to look for on social media.

After just being open for the weekend, the park – starting today – will remain open every day throughout the season.
