Milan/Student charged again

For the second time in a month, an Edison High School student faces criminal charges.

The 14-year-old boy on Wednesday allegedly sent a photo of himself carrying weapons with a threatening message to students.

He was charged with inducing panic.

Last month, police believe the same boy allegedly brought a knife into school, in which he was charged with a felony for.

School officials also received information about the boy making threats to the students who reported the knife incident.


Norwalk/False alarm fire

A false alarm for a possible fire at a home considered to be a showplace in Norwalk…

Firefighters were sent to the home on 133 West Main Street after reports of smoke; where they found just smoldering under the floor.

The prominent home has been in the Gardiner family since the mid-1800’s.


Norwalk/Man to be sentenced for child endangerment

A Norwalk man has pled guilty to child endangerment.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office investigated a reported incident in September involving 36-year-old Nathan Olvera of Old State Road.

Olvera will be sentenced next month.


Perkins Township/Interim fire chief named

Dave Murphy has been promoted to interim fire chief in Perkins Township.

The 22-year veteran firefighter, all with Perkins, temporarily takes over for Chief Keith Wohlever, who retired a month ago.

For the last seven years, Murphy had been assistant chief.


Sandusky/Suspected cocaine found during traffic stop

A Sandusky woman faces criminal charges after police reportedly found suspected cocaine in here vehicle.

35-year-old Kristen Everett of Venice Heights Boulevard was charged with felony cocaine possession following a traffic stop on West Boalt Street where Everett’s vehicle was reportedly weaving.


Sandusky/Money for home upgrades

Residents of Sandusky can now apply for money to renovate, repair and restore their homes.

City officials, for the third year in a row, have set aside $300,000 in public funds for their housing improvement program.

The funds can be used for three purposes: down payment assistance, exterior upgrades and substantial redevelopment.

Norwalk/Boy places 6th in national soccer competition

A Norwalk boy recently placed in the top 10 of a national soccer competition.

Benny Sellers, son of Wes and Allison Sellers, finished 6th in the under 8-year-old division of the national Mid Atlantic Elks Soccer Shoot earlier this month in Frederick, Maryland.
