Police charge man in Sandusky shooting

Authorities have found the man they believe is responsible for the shooting at a Sandusky bar early Friday morning.

27 year-old Jonathon Lacey of Camp Street in Sandusky has been charged with three counts of felonious assault.

Lacey was previously arrested on Friday for resisting and misconduct after officers stopped him following the shooting.

Two men and a woman were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting at Kaman’s Korner bar on Milan Road.


Authorities believe Osborne School threat is a hoax

Sandusky police are looking into a threat made against Osborne School on social media.

Residents brought attention to a Facebook post that reportedly showed a picture of firearms that said “don’t go to school tomorrow”.

Authorities believe it’s a copycat hoax with the photo coming from a news article from Virginia.


Man saved from burning in Norwalk

Huron County maintenance worker Mike Armstrong reportedly helped pull a man who was caught on fire away from a van that was engulfed by flames Monday morning in Norwalk.

According to the Norwalk Reflector, the incident at 15 East Willard Avenue is under investigation by both Norwalk Police and the state fire marshal’s office.

The man, likely in his 50’s, was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.


Ohio Bike Week to see changes this year

Some big time changes are coming to Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky for 2018.

City commissioners have agreed with event organizer Advantage Entertainment to reduce the event from a 10-day to a five-day festival, move the event up a week to May 24th through 28th and to increase the “block party” from three to four days.

Nearly 200,000 biking enthusiasts attend Ohio Bike Week each year.


New London welcomes new school board member

The board of education at New London Schools has sworn in a new member.

Tim Grys, who works for ODOT and has lived in the school district for 30 years, will finish out the last two years of Gary Landis’ term, who is stepping down.
