Shelby high school student in trouble for alleged threat

A high school student at Shelby faces criminal charges after an alleged threat on social media.

The student allegedly made a social media post saying he had heard rumors of a threat to the school; which also included a threat of its own.

After an investigation Wednesday night, the student was charged; and now awaits a hearing in juvenile court.

 

Norwalk apartment fire destroys belongings

A Norwalk apartment fire Tuesday night caused severe damage to the structure and the tenant’s possessions.

The fire at a Concord Court dwelling, which reportedly started in a living room couch, will likely result in the gutting of the apartment and the replacing of all belongings.

The official cause of the fire is under investigation.

 

Sandusky man leads police on car and foot chase

A 19 year-old Sandusky man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a car and foot chase Thursday evening.

Jordan Flanigan also faces fleeing and eluding and concealed weapon offenses after attempting to escape from authorities on Barker Street near Camp Street.

Police caught up to Flanigan near the 1400 block of Seneca Street; where the suspect attempted to discard a handgun.

 

Part of U.S. 250 near Norwalk to close next week

A portion of U.S. 250 near Milan and Norwalk will close Monday for embankment repairs.

The section of highway between Lockwood Road and Judy Drive will be closed through at least October 20th.

 

EHOVE hosting open house on Sunday

EHOVE (E-Hovie) Career Center is playing to host an open house event this Sunday.

The event includes a free pancake breakfast, car show and 5-K run.

The 5K begins at 8:30 am, with the open house running from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The 5K will help raise money for student scholarships.

 

Lift bridge in Port Clinton to close for eight months

The lift bridge in Port Clinton will be closings soon for an eight-month state renovation project.

The $13 million project involves the replacement of electrical and mechanical systems.

Starting October 14th, the bridge will be closed to all traffic through late May of 2018.

Boat traffic will also be restricted.
