A drug bust in Norwalk.
Local authorities swarmed a Route 250 home Sunday night, and seized heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, weapons and cash. Two men were arrested, and taken to the Huron County Jail. Darren Townsend is facing several drug charges. He’s already awaiting sentencing for drug crimes in Erie County. Scott Dale was arrested for violating probation. He was convicted of selling heroin in late 2011. Police said more arrests are likely.
Ohio’s first casino is open for business.
The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland opened last night, without major problems. It’s expected to draw five million visitors a year. The Horseshoe is the first of four casinos. The Hollywood Casino near Toledo will open in two weeks. Casinos will open in Columbus and Cincinnati late this year, or early next year.
A 15-year-old Bellevue girl missing since last Tuesday has been found.
The teen was found at a Sandusky home, with a registered sex offender. She’s now charged with obstructing official business. 34-year-old William Stevens of Bellevue is facing several charges. It’s the third time he’s been caught with a teenage girl. He’s currently in jail, with no bond.
The sale of Great Wolf Resorts is final.
Apollo Global Management bought all of Great Wolf’s 11 indoor waterparks, including the Great Wolf Lodge in Perkins Township, for nearly $800 million. The purchase also calls for Apollo to assume Great Wolf’s debt. Apollo Global Management is the same company that tried unsuccessfully to buy Cedar Fair in 2009.
We may find out today what caused a weekend fire at Bellevue’s A. Schulman plant.
Firefighters were summoned to the North Buckeye Street plant Friday evening, after a blaze broke out on line 5. There were no injuries.
Steaming through Columbus…
A bill that would ban teens from using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. In addition, the measure would make it illegal for anyone to text while driving.

Republican lawmakers are continuing their push to require drug testing for welfare recipients.
Leaders at the University of Toledo are considering higher tuition.
If approved, the increase would equal 3.5 percent.
Norwalk’s Ernsthausen Aquatic Center will be off-limits this Thursday through Sunday.
The pool area and the weight room will be closed for cleaning, maintenance and improvements.
